Elkyr

The Elkyr are sailors and wanderers, shaped by the greatest migration in recorded history. Their bodies are built for motion. Their culture was forged in the act of saving two peoples from annihilation.
They come from a continental region called Kyr, a place that no longer exists in any reachable form. What remains of Elkyr identity was built on the water.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”Elkyr have a metallic silver cast to their skin, a quality that catches light differently depending on angle and environment: subtle in shade, striking in sun. Their hair runs white or very pale, and their eyes carry a faint blue luminescence. The overall impression is of something built from the sea itself: cool, reflective, and in motion even when still.
The Law of Flux
Section titled “The Law of Flux”The Elkyr lineage polarity is Flux: movement, flow, and attunement to bodies of motion.
Physically, Elkyr bodies adapt to environments defined by constant movement. They learn to move quickly and safely through conditions that disorient or exhaust others, most naturally the open sea, but the principle extends wherever motion is constant and demands precise navigation.
Flux is not just a physical attunement. It is a relationship with momentum itself. Elkyr Rennim understand how force moves through systems, water, bodies, crowds, conflict, and work with it rather than against it.
The law of Flux moved in him unhindered because of his Elkyrian blood, and he felt it more clear now.

Culture & Society
Section titled “Culture & Society”Elkyr culture is defined by two things: egalitarianism and individualism. These are not contradictory to them. The unity of the migration forged a deep collective identity, and out of that unity came a strong sense that every person within the collective has the right to define their own path.
They are egalitarian not from ideology but from necessity. The migration required every Elkyr to pull weight regardless of birth. Hierarchy that did not earn its place was a liability on the water.
Elkyr are individualistic but not solitary. Personal freedom is treated as something worth protecting for others as well as yourself. They are also notably superstitious. The sea is unpredictable, and Elkyr oral tradition is full of practices and observances meant to respect that unpredictability.
Natural sailors. Comfortable with outsiders. The Elkyr-founded nation of Kyr’elian reflects this: a maritime culture that judges people by what they can do, not where they came from.
History & Origin
Section titled “History & Origin”The Elkyr did not begin on the Remnant Continent, and they did not begin in Lydiria either. Their origin is the continental region of Kyr, which suffered a disaster of its own long before the Shattering of Lydiria. The records that survive are fragmentary. A plague is the most common inference, but the true cause has never been established. What is clear is that Kyr became uninhabitable, and the Elkyr left.
They resettled in Lydiria, the continent the Janim and Nyl called home. When two spirits descended into open conflict and destroyed it (after which the ruins became known as the Shattered Lands), the Elkyr were not watching from safety. They were losing their second home.
What they had that the Janim and Nyl did not was their ships and their sea knowledge. The Elkyr recognized the scale of what was happening, gathered who they could find, and navigated all three peoples across open ocean to the Remnant Continent. The migration was enormous and dangerous.
This act defines Elkyr historical identity. It is neither mythologized as a sacrifice nor dismissed as pragmatism. It is simply what happened, and the Elkyr tend to view it that way. That they saved two peoples while also saving themselves does not diminish either half of that fact.
